i'm moving to woodstock!

i'm trying to get better at posting here more regularly, but today (ok, actually monday, around 1:30pm) bring very exciting news!

i just found out that i was chosen as an intern at the Center for Photography!!! what does this mean?
- in 5 weeks, i will be living in woodstock, ny
- i will be 1 of 3 interns, all of us are relocating from "a couple hundred miles away," so we're all in the same boat
- i will be meeting & assisting a new professional artist every weekend
- i will be working part-time at a cafe as a barista/bartender
- i will finally have time to read all those books i've wanted to, do all the projects & experiments i've wanted to, and change a few things i've wanted to (with 24-hour access to the entire facility including their digital lab, darkroom, and library!)
- i'm getting a kitten!
- you all need to come visit me =)

this is literally the opportunity of a lifetime, and the best thing that could possibly happen for me at this time in my life and photography career. i'm so excited!!!!

while i'll be sad to leave milwaukee & the friends i have here, the excitement about this opportunity is overshadowing it for now. the last two days i've woken up and realized that its a reality...it isn't just a dream. i could not be more happy!

if you want to read more about what i'll be doing, look here:

and if you want to see the facilities i get to use, look here:

and if you want to see the people i'll be working with, look here:

here's an image of the center, the building i'll probably be spending 18 hours a day in...

so, wish me luck...i'm sure there will be a few more "i'm moving to woodstock!!!" postings before i go. also, my main project is going to be setting up a blog to show you all what i'm learning and what i'm doing with photography, and also to write about the experience of moving to woodstock as a whole...

(I'M SO EXCITED!!!)
