still. tension.

The point of starting this blog was to have a place to post my photography stuff (along with other interesting things) without having to put it on facebook. (fyi to all, facebook claims all rights to ANY image you put up, even if you delete it, so be careful!)

A few weeks ago I was in a small independent show with two other lovely ladies. The opening was AMAZINGLY successful! We were so happy to see all of our family and friends, and to have so much support from students and professors. All of the crazy last minute shooting and installing was worth it for all of the excitement the night brought...

Here are 3 of the 7 images that I had hung along with my artist statement:

"insidious"

This project evolved from a collection of environmental and humanistic writings concerning the problems our society is facing today. We have been taught to "think green" but not to consider the implications it has on us as human beings, our quality of life, and the relationships we have with each other if we ignore such issues.

"The planet and all its inhabitants are today threatened by a
potential global ecological crisis that is all the more dangerous
because of its gradual and cumulative effect. Our only hope is for
a radical change in society, not just in its economic systems or
governmental structures, but in the basic values people are
prepared to live by and to incorporate in their social and
economic institutions."
-Dr. Arthur Lyon Dahl, United Nations Environment Programme Coordinator

And here are a few images Heidi took of the event:

(thank you, thank you to all my models! i REALLY couldn't have done any of this without their willingness and support!)
